Local Area
The North Yorkshire Coast is a beautiful stretch of coastline dotted with pretty, traditional seaside towns. Filey is situated between Scarborough to the north and Bridlington to the south. Originally a tiny fishing and farming community it began to grow as a resort in the mid nineteenth century with the arrival of the railway in 1846.
Filey's popularity was at it's height in the Edwardian era and exudes an authentic, relaxing, laid back atmosphere having avoided the over development other resorts have been subject to over the years.
The town offers small, interesting, boutique style shops, cafes and restaurants, alongside all the amenities you need to enjoy your holiday.
